Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using GuestRoll. By creating an account or using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use GuestRoll.

1. Who We Are

GuestRoll is operated by MJF Digital Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. References to "GuestRoll", "we", "us" or "our" in these terms refer to GuestRoll.

2. The Service

GuestRoll is an event photo-sharing platform that allows event organisers ("Organisers") to collect photos from their guests ("Guests") via a QR code. Collected photos are stored in a private gallery that the Organiser can manage, share, and download.

These terms apply to all users of GuestRoll, including Organisers and Guests.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use GuestRoll as an Organiser. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or over.

Guests uploading photos do not need to create an account, but by uploading content they agree to these terms (particularly the sections on User Content and Prohibited Content below).

4. Your Account

When you register, you agree to provide accurate and current information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please notify us immediately at hello@guestroll.app if you suspect any unauthorised use.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Payments and Pricing

GuestRoll operates on a per-event pricing model. The applicable price is shown at the time of purchase. All prices are inclusive of any applicable VAT where required.

Payment is required before your event is activated. We use third-party payment processors and do not store your full card details on our servers.

Refunds. Because event access is granted immediately upon payment, we do not offer refunds once an event has been activated. If you experience a technical fault on our side that prevents the service from functioning, please contact us and we will assess your case on an individual basis.

We may change our pricing at any time, but any changes will not affect events you have already paid for.

6. User Content

Your ownership. You and your Guests retain ownership of any photos or other content you upload to GuestRoll ("User Content"). We do not claim any ownership rights over your photos.

Licence to us. By uploading User Content, you grant GuestRoll a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service to you. We will not use your photos for advertising or marketing without your explicit consent.

Your responsibility. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you submit - including that you have the consent of any identifiable individuals where required by applicable law (including the UK GDPR). You warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights.

7. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You must not upload, share, or use GuestRoll to transmit content that:

  • Is illegal under UK or applicable law
  • Is obscene, hateful, threatening, discriminatory, or harassing
  • Depicts violence or abuse
  • Infringes any copyright, trade mark, or other intellectual property right
  • Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Impersonates another person or entity

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these rules and to suspend or terminate accounts of users who breach them.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We store your event gallery for 3 months from the event start date you set when creating your event. After this period, your photos and associated data will be permanently deleted from our servers. If you delete your event or account before this period ends, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

9. Intellectual Property

All elements of the GuestRoll platform - including our software, design, trademarks, and branding - are owned by or licensed to GuestRoll Ltd. You must not reproduce, copy, or distribute any part of the platform without our written permission.

10. Availability and Uptime

We aim to keep GuestRoll available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the service offline for maintenance or updates. We will try to provide advance notice where possible, but are not liable for any downtime.

11. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

GuestRoll is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, we exclude all warranties, conditions, and representations not expressly set out in these terms.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, special, or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of goodwill arising out of or in connection with your use of GuestRoll.

12. Third-Party Services

GuestRoll may integrate with or link to third-party services (such as payment processors). We are not responsible for the practices or content of those third parties. Your use of any third-party service is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of GuestRoll after that date constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

14. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law.

On termination, your right to use GuestRoll ceases immediately. Sections 6 (licence back to you survives only for retrieval), 9, 11, 14, and 15 survive termination.

15. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of GuestRoll will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer based in the UK, you may also have the right to refer disputes to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) scheme or to the relevant trading standards authority.
